The list of authorized online gaming and betting operators was established by the National Gaming Authority on December 17, 2021 and published in the Official Journal of the French Republic on January 4, 2021.
Approval of sports betting organizations
In accordance with article 21 VII. of the Law of 12 May 2010 on the opening up to competition and regulation of the online gambling sector, the National Gaming Authority establishes and updates the list of online gaming or betting operators benefiting from the approval required to organize online games or betting. This approval is issued for a period of 5 years. It is renewable and non-transferable.
The ANJ regulates authorized games and bets online, in points of sale and in racetracks; it controls the responsible gambling policy of casinos. It ensures that the operators authorized to operate on the French market respect their obligations. It protects players from the risks of excessive gambling and guarantees a recreational gambling offer. It fights against illegal offers and fraudulent practices.
