On the occasion of the Fifth World Conference on Doping in Sport in Katowice, Poland (5 at 7 November 2019), the Foundation Board and the Executive Committee of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) approved the draft of the 2021 Code and the revised International Standards.

Revisions to the World Anti-Doping Code

The first version of the World Anti-Doping Code was approved in Copenhagen during the Second World Conference on Doping in Sport, in January 2003. Then, the WADA Foundation Board initiated in February 2006 and in November 2011 review processes that led to amendments in the versions of the Code of 2009 as well as 2015, respectively

Le November 16, 2017, WADA's Board of Trustees jointly launched a process for revising the 2021 Code and International Standards in three phases of consultation for the Code and two for the Standards, during which several successive versions were submitted to the relevant partners. The recommendations and comments received by WADA were then forwarded to the eight drafting teams.
